Classes

Due to the recent news of the lockdown over the coming weeks, we have unfortunately had to put our face to face classes on hold until the restrictions are lifted.

Our classes are now continuing to run online, with both pre recorded and zoom classes available. See below for more information.

Find the right class for you…

Online classes

Currently, all of our classes are running online instead of face-to-face until further notice. Classes can either be purchased on a one-off basis, or purchased as a virtual ‘half term’. All abilities are catered for including seated clients. We offer both pre-recorded and live zoom classes.

At Pilates For All, we understand that it’s not always easy to take part in online classes with peace of mind that you’re exercising safely and correctly.

That’s why all of our online classes include:

  • class programmes designed by a Physio
  • pre-recorded classes to access at a time and pace which suits you
  • a wide range of abilities, from beginner to advance
  • adapted exercises to suit individual needs
  • 1:1 support via Phone call, WhatsApp or Zoom (etc) from a Physio to answer individual questions or concerns

Pre-recorded classes

Our pre-recorded classes are designed for those who wish to exercise at at time and pace which suits them. The classes are sent out weekly via email and can be accessed at any time and can be viewed multiple times.

Please enquire for the details.

Live Zoom classes

Both Sue and Louise are offering live Zoom classes for those who prefer to follow along in a virtual class setting. These classes are designed for those who are looking for a little more discipline and motivation!

Please enquire for the details.

Garden Classes

Unfortunately, our garden classes are unable to run during the lockdown. We hope to reinstate them for the hardy clients once the restrictions are eased!

Matwork classes

All of our Pilates Matwork classes are floor based classes and involve exercises performed in standing, sitting on the floor, kneeling, lying on your back, your tummy and your side. We use a variety of equipment at times in the classes (provided by us) such as foam rollers, small soft balls, Pilates circles etc.

Whilst our classes are divided into beginners, intermediate and advance classes, there is a fair amount of flexibility within those boundaries as our instructors are qualified physiotherapists and they can use their skills to make sure that our clients feel they are in the right class for them. We are able to make the necessary individual adaptions to make this safe and appropriate.

Beginner

These are designed for people with very little or no Pilates experience. They are also a useful way of getting back to Pilates if you have had a break from classes. A beginners block of classes lasts approximately six weeks and by the end of the course you will have covered all of the basic Pilates principles and exercises to progress on if you wish too. Some prefer to stay at this level for a few courses until they feel confident to move on and others progress on more quickly. We are always able to guide you in this decision making process.

Intermediate

These are for people who are ready to move past the beginners level and who want to start to learn more challenging variations of the basic exercises and to explore more difficult exercises, postures and exercise positions. The pace of these classes is faster than the beginners course, which helps with building strength and stamina. Many people choose to stay at an intermediate class and enjoy the weekly variety of exercise variations, use of different equipment and changing themes.

Advanced

These classes are aimed primarily at people with no significant health issues, who want to work at a fast pace and to perform a larger proportion of the class at an advanced level. A greater majority of the exercises are the more challenging ones and there are more exercises performed in the more difficult starting positions.

Seated

Our seated classes have been specifically designed for people who who are unable, for health or mobility reasons, to get on or off the floor. They include a mixture of chair based seated exercises and standing exercises, which can both be adapted to accommodate individual issues. These classes are particularly suitable for people with conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis or people with general mobility and balance issues. They are also useful for people recovering from surgery as an interim class before returning to the matwork classes. We also welcome class members with mild dementia and they are welcome to bring a companion to assist them if they wish to.

One-to-one

Our one to one classes are completely tailored to each person’s individual requirements and are suitable for anybody! We realise that a group class is not for everyone, so if you prefer to exercise in a more private setting , with less distraction and have a class programme that is designed uniquely for you , this type of class would be a good option. Please see our ‘one to one’ classes page for more information.

Ante and post natal

We don’t currently have any dedicated ante or post natal classes but if you are pregnant or have recently had a baby you are most welcome to join the existing classes (at the appropriate level) taught by Sue or Louise who are both qualified to teach ante and post natal Pilates . Sue and Louise have all the necessary knowledge of exercise adaptions to ensure ante and post natal clients can exercise safely and effectively. Ante and post natal clients are also welcome to access our one to one class service if they prefer. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
